Summer update

June 15th will be the last Shimmy Social this term.

Usually July is a holiday month but I have added an extra Class on July 20th so come along if you’re free.

Then it will be back to normal in August with Class on the first Friday of the month and Social on the third.

End of term

This term we raised £41.50 for charity and I was delighted to donate this to community health project “Health all round” which is based on the west side of Edinburgh.

Shimmy class will be back on Feb 2nd so in the meantime happy dancing!

Under “Classes” I’ve put a short video on arm movements – hope it’s helpful!

Summer Break

Over the past few months we ‘ve settled well into the new venue at Carrickvale Community Centre. There will be no Shimmy Class or Shimmy Social in July with the class starting back on August 4th.

Just to let you know £28.05 has been donated to Cancer Research so well done to the ladies who came last term. I was looking back and since starting Shimmytime! in 2015 we’ve managed to raise £205.67 for charity. It all adds up!

See you next term!

Venue and time change

From May, Shimmytime! is moving to Carrickvale Community Centre, 2 Saughton Mains St, EH11 3HH.

Shimmy Class will be on the 1st Friday of the month:big room upstairs in the Centre between 7-8 pm. (See under “Classes”)

Shimmy Social will be on the 3rd Friday of the month: small room upstairs in the Centre between 7-8pm. (See under “Shimmy Social”)

The earlier time should suit better and there is also good access to parking.

That means our last class in the scout hall will be next month on April 7th at the existing time of 8.15pm.

The class will continue to be not-for-profit and aim to raise money for charity. The aim of the  social will be simply to cover the cost of the room hire.
